11 films from eight Asian countries along with two films from Iran compete in the Asian Cinema section of the 28th International Fajr Film Festival.
Taiwan, China and Kazakhstan each have two films and one film from Japan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Tajikistan will be shown in this competitive section. Iranian films are not selected yet. Selected Asian films are:
1.    "Beyond the Circle" directed by Golam Rabbany Biplop from Bangladesh - 2009
2.    "Blue Brave" directed by Hung Chih-Yu from Taiwan - 2008
3.    "The Cherry Tree in the Hills" directed by Tetsuo Shinohara from Japan - 2008
4.    "The Damned Rain" directed by Satish Manwar from India - 2008
5.    "The Equation of Love and Death" directed by Baoping Cao from China - 2008
6.    "Farewell Gulsaryi" directed by Ardak Amikulov from Kazakhstan – 2008
7.    "Jermal" directed by Ravi Bharwani from Indonesia – 2008
8.    "I Can't Live Without You" directed by Leon Dai from Taiwan – 2009
9.    "The Shaft" directed by Zhang Chi from China – 2008
10.    "True Noon" directed by Nosir Saidov from Tajikistan – 2009
11.    "Turmoil" (The Fuss) directed by Sabit Karmanbekov and Kanyambek Kassymbekov from Kazakhstan – 2008
"True Noon", "Jermal" and "The Equation of Love and Death" are from the admired Asian films of 2009 and "I Can't Live Without You" is Taiwan's formal submission in the 2010 foreign-language films of Academy Awards.
28th International Fajr Film Festival runs from January 25 to February 4 (Bahman 5-15) in Tehran - Iran.
